Motor Valley Emilia Romagna: the Land of Engines

Emilia Romagna, which has always had a vocation for the two and four wheels, has an extraordinary wealth of museums, collections and unique motorsports places.

Emilia Romagna is famous for many reasons, from the culinary excellence such as cured ham, Parmesan cheese, tortellini and balsamic vinegar, to the great figures like Luciano Pavarotti and the poet Ludovico Ariosto, to name a few. But who says Emilia Romagna, also says Land of Engines, in fact, this land, which has always been a vocation for the two and four wheels, has an extraordinary wealth of museums,collections and unique motorsports places. The heritage that is concentrated in this cradle of the engines is immense: 13 museums, 188 clubs and sports teams including stables, 12 private collections, four racetracks, 11 kart tracks, international circuits and beautiful routes in motion. Ferrari, Lamborghini, Maserati, the legendary Morini, Malaguti and Ducati, the circuit of Imola and Misano, are just some of the many "universes" dedicated to this passion. Fans of this kind of tourism have plenty of choice.

Along the Via Emilia you can meet meet motorsports unique places in the world, among them the Museo Ferrari in Maranello, located a few hundred meters from the factory of the legendary "red" and the Fiorano circuit. Visited annually by over 200,000 fans from all over the world, the museum tells the Ferrari of today and tomorrow, sinking roots in the extraordinary history of the Prancing Horse. The permanent exhibition dedicated to the Formula 1 and the World Championships are added five rooms offering thematic exhibitions of great interest. And it is the creator of the brand Ferarri has dedicated another important museum, the beautiful MEF-Museo Casa Enzo Ferrari Modena, a museum complex dedicated to Enzo Ferrari motor racing into two separate buildings: the birthplace, which narrates through images, unreleased films and valuable memorabilia life of Enzo Ferrari man, pilot and builder; and the exhibition gallery, that is the story, the actors, the places and the motor sport competitions Modena.

Among the cars on display there are: the Murciélago, the Miura SV, the 350 GT, the S Countach, the Jalpa, the Espada, the sixth grade and the Reventon. To the founder of the machines of Taurus is dedicated the Museum Ferruccio Lamborghini in Funo di Argelato, in the plain of Bologna. Opened in 2001, the museum is an exciting journey through the most representative objects that have marked the life of the brilliant founder of the brand.

For fans of cycling, in Borgo Panigale it 's the Ducati Museum, which traces the glorious past of the famous brand from Bologna. The museum offers the visitor a double interpretation: on the one hand, the bikes were arranged chronologically according to a circular path; on the other, six rooms Technical Symposium contain detailed documentation on the different historical periods. Here fans can also visit the factory. Another interesting museum dedicated to the two wheels is the Small Museum of Motorcycles in Guastalla, where he explained the phenomenon of mass motorization after World War II, 1945-1965. Among the private collections worth a visit Collezione Righini in Panzano in Castelfranco Emilia, which houses one of the most important collections of cars in Italy. Among the pieces on display stand out: the "Auto Avio Costruzioni 815" of 1940, known as the first car built by Enzo Ferrari did not exist when his factory; and Fiat "Chiribiri" of 1912.
